Happy Halloween to our family and friends!!!

Adria had fun dressing up as a butterfly. She was darling of course! She had the trick or treat phrase down pat :) and loved the candy she received.

Casey and I dressed up as Jasmine and Prince Aladdin. It was so fun to dress up!

We carved our pumpkin together as a family on Saturday. Adria loved reaching in a pulling out the seeds.

It's been time for a while now to cut Adria's bangs. Finally this morning I got the scissor and trimmed them. Adria held very still. I was so proud of her. I couldn't believe I cut of an inch and a half of hair. My how her hair has grown!

Adria is so hilarious. This morning I was talking to her about getting dressed and she got so excited. "dress" she says. So we go into her room and I pick out two different skirts for her to chose from. She goes to the closet and pulls out this dress...tutu. She insisted upon wearing it. She went to the store and everything in it. Haha. She is such a CUTIE!

Adria loves her baby. And every other baby she sees. Valette and Madilyn are favorites of course! She enjoys taking care of her doll: burping it, rocking it, putting it to bed, giving it a bottle and giving it bites from a spoon. Its amazing how the mothering instinct is already present.

My family enjoys camping on the beach in Carlsbad, California annually. This trip we loved the amazing view, falling asleep to the ocean waves, running down the stairs and anytime of the day to play in the ocean. We saw dolphins swimming and also a sea lion. We enjoyed playing in the sand and boogie boarding. We had a campfire and sang songs. We went and picked fresh strawberries. We were so grateful for the showers so we would wash off all the sand and salt. It was so fun to be together and build great memories!

Adria loved the beach! She liked playing with her sand toys, especially her bucket and shovel. By the end she could fill her bucket with sand all by her self. We tried really hard to keep her covered and sun screened. Thankfully she was happy to wear her had and the swim shirts worked wonders. She did come home with a slight farmers tan on her arms...I'm just so glad she didn't fry like her Dad.

The Gigantic Sand Castle

We Durfees are project people. Holly Cow! We made the biggest sand castle I have ever seen! It had two major towers on either side with motes and walls surrounding them. In the middle we made this huge mound of sand and called it the temple(sorry I didn't get a picture). We had so much fun creating, building, decorating, and working together on this project.

It was so funny. Joycelyn, Cherry and I made one of the towers. Adria was sooo excited to help us pat down the tower that was taller than her! She joyfully helped and then tried to climb it...we quickly stop that. I was decorating the base with a sea shell sand toy. Here I was carefully going around the tower adding these sand shells and there Adria was going along behind me happily knocking them down :) It was hilarious!

The Ocean

Adria loved the ocean! She wasn't even fazed by the cold water...brave girl. As we were jumping waves and the waves receded she kept asking to go farther out so we would be in the water again. I kept telling her the water would come back :) Adria would get so excited when a wave was coming she would stomp her feet and grin!

I'm so grateful for my wonderful moms (sorry we didn't get a picture mom lawlor) I love them both dearly.

Casey was so sweet and got me a corsage. The Lawlor men made dinner for their sweet wives... Hawaiian Hay stacks (they were delicious) We went to Grandma Bevell's afterward to visit.

I love my second Mom! Vicki and I have become such good friends the past two years. We have really enjoyed living together. I have learned so much from her, she is a wealth of knowledge for a new mommy. I am so grateful to her! One year ago Mom when through chemotherapy, and it was very hard on her. She was so brave even though it was nearly killing her. I was so glad we were here to help support, care, and love on Mom and Dad. She is an amazing women who loves her family and the gospel.

Mom lost most of her hair, as we expected during chemo. She was so grateful for her wig, it allowed her to feel presentable enough to go out in public. I could see how happy she was when she wore her cute hair. I have decided to donate my hair to women who are victims of cancer in tribute to my mom.

Scriptures

We have been trying hard the past two months to read scriptures as a family. We made it part of her bedtime routine and its working very well for us. Adria know where we keep them and shows us where they are when we say its time for scriptures. She listens in the begining and loves looking at the pictures. She enjoys finding jesus and saying his name. Then we have family prayer and Adria will fold her arms and try to sit still (she lasts about half the prayer) Once we say Amen she says Amen (mamen) too...its so cute!

This is our beloved dog Keeva. Really she is my dog because she picked me as her favorite person. I'm so lucky! She is so sweet and soft. Keeva is very good with Adria, she loves to go outside and enjoys petted and loved on.

Today I got Keeva a new collar....its such a pretty color of pink.

I'm happy with how thin this collar is. Her old was was too bulky and big.

Spring Break

We went for a little vacation with my family to the Michauds cabin. IT was so fun! We had the best time being together, talking and telling stories, enjoying the outdoors, eating, making icecream, playing games, fishing, hiking, napping :) It was the perfect overnighter.

I have been admiring the flowers at our neighbors house for two weeks. Finally I took Adria over and snaped some pictures. She was a good sport even though she didn't feel 100% and it was very sunny.

Happy Birthday Adria!!!

Its hard to believe it has been a year since our baby girl was born. It seems just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. Adria has been such a joy. We love having her in our family! She bring laughter and smiles where ever she goes.

Joycelyn and Katie made her cake. They were so fun and made it pink with her name on it, fowersall over, and candy cane on it.

Adria enjoyed the presents. Her favorite ones were the little baby bottles

This is her giving the baby doll a bottle. She adores her babies.

Adria loves her wagon, bucket, dinosaur book, link toys, blocks, baby bottles, and shoes. Its hilarious how much Adria loves shoes. She is always finding random shoes around the house and caring them around. She has a word for shoe...its SH. She asks to put her shoes on in the morning after she gets dressed. It is so fun being with her and seeing how much she communicates.

Adria is so big. She is not a baby anymore, she is a toddler. She walks all over, loves to play in the back yard, wants to feel herself, likes to go to the bathroom and brush her hair(but she still pulls her bows and flowers out and then tries to put them back in) Adria talks all the time. She mimics things we say. Her favorite word is still DaDa. Everything is dada... But she can say Duck-du, Dog-daw, Daddy- dada, Mommy- mama, Shoe-sh, She asks question, gives loves(hugs) and even kisses. She loves fruit snacks and get so excited when she finds a package on the floor, she will come running into show us and then tries to eat it.

Adria has a sense of humor and does funny things to get us to laugh. Just today she put her sippy cup on her head while in the high chair and it stayed. This was the greatest thing! She laughed and laughed with me. Next she put her bit of bread on her head and I had to explain how we don't put bread on our head because it makes out hair dirty (it was hard not to laugh when she did this).

I love our Adria so much! I'm so thankful for her in my life. I have decided to take a step back (and not stress about how I never get anything done; or can't blog, or make dinner every night, or do the laundry, or clean the house, or do the dishes, or the bathroom) and just enjoy being with my daughter. She is so special and I don't want to miss a thing. I love to play with her, read books together, swing on the swing, sing songs, play outside, rock her to sleep, do her hair, talk to her, make her laugh, ask her to do things, and make yummy food for her (like the jell-o i made today and can't wait to give to her :). I love being a mom especially to Adria.

Valette was born on a wonderful day in January! Noelle went into labor all on her own and even a few days early. The fun thing is she was born on Adria's birthday. Madilyn Mae is the sweetest little girl. She was born premature ( We feel she was determined to get here!) and was 4 Lbs 5 ounces and 16 inches long. Madilyn is such a miricle baby. She is doing so well, eating, growing, sleeping and just being her sweet self. Now a month later she is 6 Lbs and so adorable! To see some professional pictures of her click here.

Sugar Cookies

My niece Shelby came to play and we made sugar cookies for Valentines Day. They were delicious!

We also made valentines for her cousins, grandparents and uncles. We had the best time delivering them. We put a heart valentine on the door step, knocked loudly on the door, and then ran and hid behind the house. Then we repeated it at the back door. We went back and forth delivering our heart=shaped notes. It was so fun and Shelby loved it!!! This is a tradition I grew up with and it was so fun to be a kid again and deliver valentines to loved ones.

HAIR is VERY important! Adria's hair is growing so well. I tried a new style today and loved it!

Adria is getting so big. She understands so much of what I say, its surprising and amazing. She loves bath time, yesterday I was telling Casey it was time to give her a bath, put jammies on and put her to bed. Then a minute later Grandpa comes into the family room with Adria saying he found her all the way down the hall at the bathroom door ready for a bath. She is so smart!

Major Hiking

For Martin Luther King Day (I don't know what to call that holiday by the way) Adria and I went hiking with my family. We hiked up the "Bull Dogs" my Dad said which was apparently the name of the mountain. Basically we were south of the salt river next to Saguaro Lake.

Katie was a trouper and carried the back pack the whole way...Adria didn't last very long in it...

Which was why I came prepared with the sling! This grassy area right here was so pretty. It was nice and cool because it was in the shade of the mountain.

Are The Cutest Thing EVER!!!!!

Adria like to clap and/or play patty cake. Mom taught her patty cake (clapping) and throw it in the oven (arms go up in the air). Its is so cute to watch her do it, she does it all the time...its very fun!

Homemade Candy

Mom Lawlor and I have had a great time making CANDY together. between the two of use we made Banana Bread, Toffee, Chocolate Covered Peanuts, Turtles, Carmel Popcorn, Cranberry-Orange Fudge, Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies, and Pecan Logs. We made plates for the neighbors and even delivered some of them despite the rain today. It was funny because we woke up so excited to deliver our cookie plates but it was raining. Now, I never like to complain about rain because I LOVE rain and always wish for more, but today I really wanted to give out some candy. We anxiously waited till it stopped coming down and out the door we went with Adria in the stroller and treats in hand. We knocked on door after door but no one on our street was home! Of all the rotten luck! We did venture farther into the neighborhood and finally got to deliver a few of our plates. Its was so fun to visit and spread Christmas Cheer.

Adria has had a hard time sleeping in her crib. She wants to sleep with mommy of course! We (and by we I mean I) have been trying to keep a bed time routine for the past three months. We are finally having success! Adria must be getting used to sleeping in her crib. I feed her and rock her and then put her in her crib sleepy but still awake. She then is falling asleep on her own...its a MIRACLE! She wakes up once or twice in the night, but this is leaps and bound better than her waking up every hour screaming till I go pick her up. She also is getting very good at going down for her naps. I'm so proud of my baby girl!

Bicycle built for two

Adria and I enjoy visiting my mom during the week. Lately we have been going on bike rides. Thanks to my wonderful parents who invested in this awesome infant carrier.

There is something wonderful about riding a bike, feeling the wind on your face, and smelling the fresh air. Its taking time out of a busy day to enjoy the outdoors.

Adria loves being outside and likes the bike rides. She looks all around and watches the scenery go by. I can tell she is enjoying herself because she kicks her feet as we ride along.

Check out this fabulous child bike addition. Jaydon loves to go on bike rides and now he can keep up with us on this. He can help peddle and even forces mom to go faster when he peddles hard. Its the greatest invention!

The Wave

Waving!

Adria has learned to wave hello and bye bye. She has several variations and they are all adorable. She waves her fingers up and down (open and closed), also she waves by sticking her hand out, as demonstrated in this picture, and turning her wrist side to side while leaving her fingers pointed down. Its so funny! We all are thrilled with her waves. She has been practicing all the time. Waving to grandma's lamp, to the dogs, to her toys, and most of all to Daddy!

I was ready for a change with my hair. It was so long and I found I was never doing anything with it. I still wanted the length (Casey really did too). So I got it cut and now have bangs and layers. It curls pretty good because of the layers. I am enjoy the bangs and when I get tired of them I just pin then back. Its nice to have cute hair again.

We went with my cousin Delight to a children's art and play center in down town Mesa. We had so much fun together. Adria loved being with her cousins and playing in the toddler area.

Hello Baby!

This infant area was so fun for Adria. She carefully walked on the piano keys, making sure she stayed on the top keys and never went down to the lower ones. Crawling through the dog house thing was cool stuff. Adria loved the bright colors and fun toys. She is learning so much every day. It's exciting to watch her grow.

Pretty in Pink

Adria was a pink fairy for halloween. She was so cute! Her accessories included a skirt, wings, wand, headband and shoes. The funny thing was she enjoyed dressing up, feeling pretty, and having people adore her...she is definetly a girl!

I made this costume a few monthes ago with my aunt Lori. She is an artist and is always doing fun crafts. I had so much fun creating the wand, flowers, and headband. I love the ribbon roses!

We had a busy night on Saturday full of parties, family, friends, candy, food and costumes. We started with the Durfee family party...very fun. Then we went to the ward Trunk-or-Treat. Vicki and I made yummy pumpkin pie crunch (we were so happy it didn't get eaten up because then we got to take it home and munch on it for days!!!!) Lastly we stopped by Grandma Durfee's, aka my mom, house for a bonfire. Also on monday night we had a Lawlor family party. Adria loved all the kids. Noelle and I did a cake walk booth and handed out candy. I had a stroke of inspiration and drew the numbers on waxy paper plates, they held up quite well. Adria especially enjoyed my cake walk numbers...they just tasted so good :) I helped her walk around the circle a few times but she never made it all the way around because she just had to sit and check out the colorful paper plates.

I am enjoying every minute with Adria. Life is so new and exciting right now. Her personality is really coming out. She loves to laugh and thinks many things are funny...like when we blow our nose, or when mommy crawls around on the floor with her. When she does something she is pleased with she makes this grin and happily grunts. Lately she wrinkles up her nose when she grins...but I don't have a picture yet. Its super cute and always makes me laugh!

I had a fabulous weekend with my sister in-laws!!!! We went up to the cabin and had a marvelous time visiting, eating, making flowers, giggling, staying up late, and going to womens conference together. It really brought us closer together. I'm so glad everyone was able to come...even my bran new sister of two weeks came :) Yea Sarah

We had a marvelous time making hair flowers. It was hard to stop because you or someone else would come up with another style and you just had to try it.

Decorating for Fall was so fun! Mom Lawlor and I just whipped it together and now it looks so festive in our house. Mom has so many cute things, it was really easy to decorate. We had so much fun together...I love my second Mom!

Summer Adventures

Wow this has been a great summer! Let me tell you about some of the fun stuff we have done.

Adria continued to try on some of my baby clothes. It was so fun!

This was one of my pajamas. It has cute lace on it.

Mom Lawlor and I got to park our cars in the carport! Dad and Casey build a nice ramp our of dirt so we could part up on it. We were so excited to finally be able to use it. And it really does help keep the car from getting so hot.

She has been in to sucking on her bottom lip...its pretty cute

She can sit up on her own now very well.

This is at six months. She loves to hold her hands. Its so sweet!

We watched Austin and Jill's dogs for a weekend and Adria loved Lady's collar. Lady would just sit there and loving the attention.

We went to Utah to visit Natalia. We survived to long drive there and back. Talia and I had the best time playing together with our babies

Also while we were in Utah we went to the Aquarium with one of Casey's high school friends. It was fun to see all the fish! We actually petted a stingray.

CABIN

We took a quick trip up to the cabin with Grandma and Shelby.

The funniest thing was Adria was playing on the floor and somehow got under the rocking chair. Also she was enjoying hanging her keys in her mouth.

New cheep toy! She loves water bottles. Its so funny when she holds it with her hands and feet.

CAMPING

Adria and I went camping with my family to Horseshoe Lake. (Casey had to work)

We went hiking! It rained almost every day. We enjoyed eating fish the boys caught. We sang songs around the camp fire. I went kayaking on the lake. The adults snuck away and enjoyed a jacuzzi. It was a fabulous camping experience! Adria loved it and did really well. We missed our Daddy a ton.

She is growing nicely! Its so much fun to have a baby in the house, she is a joy and tons of fun! Adria is round and getting chubby. She can roll over... she goes from her back to her tummy in a flash. Apparently she learned the harder way first. Her doctor said babies usually roll tummy to back first cause its easier. Adria has yet to roll back to her back. Its funny she is so happy to roll over and play for a while but then she gets frustrated and fusses. Also she love to get her toes...its her new favorite thing.

New Discoveries

Adria is learning and growing! She has made several new discoveries.

Most recently she can sit in her Bumbo seat and hold her head up.

She loves her links! She is starting to put them in her mouth...or try to get them there anyway. We put them on the car seat and it made her so happy. She has been fascinated by them and tries to get them.

I got a darling flower from Jill...I totally love it!

I bought these shoes while I was pregnant. They were so cute I just couldn't resist! I have been waiting and waiting for here to be able to fit in them...cause they are size one. Finally on Easter she was able to wear them, luckily they matched her dress :)

This was a very special day. Casey gave Adria a beautiful blessing.

Here's the family just after the meeting. Thanks everyone for coming!

We had everyone over for lunch afterward and we had a fun picnic in the backyard.

Look at this beautiful dress!!!! Mom Lawlor made it and it turn out lovely. She worked so hard on in and I am so grateful. I love it so much :) Just looking at it makes me happy.

Happy Valentines Day! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and beautiful baby. Casey is such a good daddy. Seeing him love, adore, and care for Adria makes me love him even more. He is always willing to change her diaper, hold her, burp her, kiss her, and talk to her. He is so good at bringing me water when I am nursing. Thankyou Casey, I love you so much!

We finally painted and decorated the baby room. It turned out wonderful! Thanks Mom Lawlor, Dad Lawlor, Joycelyn, Katie, and Casey for all your help and hard work. My sisters helped make the darling polka dots and they turned out so so so cute. It's been so great to have Mom Lawlor to bounce ideas back and forth. I am so happy with how the room turned out :)

The top third is green with a variety of pinks and green polka dots. The bottom two thirds is a light pink and in between the two colors is a white stripe. It turned out better than I had imagined!

Noelle is so crafty! She made this hair bow decoration to match perfectly with the room. I had so much fun putting on all the bows, flower clips and headbands. Thanks Noelle!!!

We found this dresser at a new and used furniture store. This piece is over 100 years old and it looks great! I love how the front has a decorative curve.

Thanks to Hobby Lobby for all the cute decorations. They have fabulous things!

I fell in love with these flowery curtains.

This cradle is a family erloom that is very special to me. My Dad made it for my Mom and gave it to her for Christmas. I was born the following month so this was my cradle. Several of my siblings got to use it too. I can remember holding the side and rocking the baby back and forth (either Joycelyn or Katie, I can't remember). It is such a beautiful hand made piece of work made of solid oak. Well it got loved too much (too many kids trying to get in together and rock out) and one of the legs broke. It sat in the shed for years and my Dad almost threw it away several times. When we found out we were pregnant I asked him if he would fix it for me so I could use it for my baby. He worked so hard sanding it down, making new legs, and re-staining the whole thing. Then he gave iI think it looks even better that it did before. It means so much to me and I'm so grateful to my wonderful Dad for making it! Thank you Dad :)

Yesterday I got to see two of my very good friends from high school. Bailey had a baby shower and she is due in three weeks. It was fun to see her and talk about being pregnant. Then I went with Natalie to our favorite place in the whole world.... Jamba Juice! It was so good to have a girls night and just talk and visit. I'm so glad I have her for a best friend :)

Graduation Dinner

To celebrate we had a beautiful graduation dinner. We ate salad, rolls, peas, beef stroganoff, cherry cheese cake, and Robert Redford dessert. We drank delicious sparkling cider and enjoyed the flavors of grape-apple and cranberry-apple. My brothers loved the drink and thought it was so cool.

We used special Christmas plates, goblets, cute napkins and candles. The tables turned out beautiful and really made it feel like a special dinner.

It was a wonderful evening! It was so great to celebrate this special occasion with my family.

I love flowers! Casey surprised me and got these for me for graduation. I was so surprised. He is such a sweetheart :) They were really fresh ones that lasted till New Years. Also he gave me a gift card to Jamba Juice...which I haven't wasted any time in using!

Graduation from the College of Education at ASU was great. I was able to sit with the girls in my program, of whom I became good friends with. It was cool we got to walk together and didn't have to sit separately in ABC order.

Good News!

I would like to announce that I finished student teaching yesterday!!! I'm going to miss those third graders. They were so cute and made me a going away book. They each did one page of the book. Some colored a picture and others wrote me a letter. It turned out so awesome and I absolutely love it! I thanked them for letting me work with them and learn to be a teacher. I told them to keep up the good work and that I would come back and visit, with my baby, in the Spring. They all gave me a hug and said good bye. I felt happy and sad at the same time. I really going to miss them and the route we got into but on the other hand it's great to be finished.

I feel so happy and relieved that it's over, that I did it while being pregnant, and I finished strong! I graduate from ASU on December 17th. Wow...I have worked so hard to get this degree and graduate...I can't believe it's really here. I just have to brag a teeny bit: with hard work, the Lords help, and Casey's support, I was able to keep my scholarship and get my Bachelor's degree in 3 1/2 years. YEA!

TV!

We put our TV on the wall in our bedroom this past weekend. Dad and Casey figured it all out and carefully secured it to the wall. We haven't used it that much yet but its nice to have it out of the way. We are changing the TV/game room into the baby's room. Its been fun to think about decorating the baby room and choosing what colors to paint it.
